Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath on Thursday hinted that the State Government might convene a special legislative session to discuss on making an Act for the SC/ST sub-plan.
Talking to media persons, Sailajanath hailed the State Government’s move to appoint a Cabinet Sub-Committee to look into the SC/ST sub-plan funds utilization. He hinted that the government might convene a special Assembly session to find ways and means of making a strong law, which prevents diversion of SC/ST sub-plan funds for other programmes.
“By appointing a cabinet sub-committee, the Congress government has tried to to give constitutional status to theutilization of SC/ST sub-plan funds,” he said.
Sailajanath reiterated that the State Government was committed for the welfare of SCs and STs and various schemes were being implemented for their welfare. (INN)
