Special Assembly session extended to three days

The two-day Special Session of the State Legislative Assembly beginning from Friday to give statutory status to Sub-Plan for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes has been extended by one more day.

Therefore, the session will now be held from three days from November 30 to December 2. The decision was taken during the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee held in the Assembly premises under the chairmanship of Speaker Nadendla Manohar here on Thursday.

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and Leader of the Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu skipped the BAC meeting. Those whose attended the meeting include Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Legislative Affairs Minister D Sreedhar Babu, Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, TDP Deputy Floor leader Gali Muddukrishnamma Naidu, Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Motkupalli Narasimhulu of TDP, YSRCP floor leader Vijayamma, Shoba Nagi Reddy (YSRCP), TRS floor leader Etala Rajender, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, Yadigiri Rao (CPI), J Ranga Reddy (CPI-M), E Lakshminarayana (BJP) and Dr Jayaprakash Narayan (Lok Satta).

Further, according to sources, the winter session of the Legislative Assembly is likely to be held from December 10 to 21st. However, there will be no sittings on December 15 and 16th.
