Chandigarh, April 20: Haryana Legislative Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Sharma today reserved order on an application moved by five MLAs seeking deletion of certain averments in the Disqualification Petitions filed by HJC chief Kuldeep Bishnoi against them.
Counsel for the MLAs, who had defected from the HJC (BL) to the Congress, argued that certain averments in the petitions were “unnecessary and vexatious”.
For example, the counsel said there was no need to make any mention of Bhajan Lal having been elected on the HJC (BL) ticket to the Lok Sabha in 2009.
Hence, these should be deleted, the counsel submitted before the Speaker.
Opposing the application, Bishnoi’s counsel said the application was intended to delay the decision on the fate of the five MLAs who had defected from the Haryana Janhit Congress (BL) to the Congress.
