Assembly Speaker S Madhusudana Chary today launched helicopter services from Hyderabad to the famous biennial Medaram Jathara, a tribal festival in Warangal district.
The Speaker flagged off the helicopter service as the State government according permission to fly helicopters for two days on February 19 and 20. Madhusudana Chary later drove straight away to Medaram along with Tourism secretary Burra Venkatesam and his spouse. It was decided to offer the helicopter services for those who can afford and reach out to the Medaram festival in a short time.
The helicopter services to Medaram are being made available from Hyderabad and Warangal. While the fare is Rs 26,500 to and fro charges from Warangal, Rs 2,75,000 being collected for four passengers from Hyderabad. (NSS)
