The Legislative Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar has directed the Ethics Committee to see that all the MLAs furnished the details of their assets before March 31. The Speaker also directed the respective party Whips to advise their MLAs to furnish the details of their assets.
It may be recalled that the Speaker had directed all the MLAs to furnish their assets a year ago but in vain. Freshly, Speaker directed the Ethics Committee to look after the issue.
Speaker has convened a meeting with all the House Committees’ chairmen here on Monday and discussed on various issues. In the meeting, all the chairmen lodged a complaint with the Speaker alleging that the officers concerned were not furnishing information asked by the respective Committees. Reacting on the complaint, Speaker assured the chairmen of all Committees’ that he will convene a meeting with the Chief Secretary and all the Principal Secretaries of the various departments soon or during the budget session.
The Speaker also said that he will conduct orientation classes to the MLAs on Standing Committees in the first week of March and the dates will be announced within two days. (NSS)
