Space film ‘First Man’ to kick start Venice Film Fest

Washington: Upcoming Hollywood space movie ‘First Man’ is set to kick start 75th Venice International Film Festival.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the flick– based on the first moon landing by Apollo 11-is set to launch on August 29, which is the opening night of the gala.

The film stars Ryan Gosling of ‘La La Land’ fame in the role of astronaut Neil Armstrong.

The Venice Film Festival is slated to take place from August 29 to September 8.

On a related note, the film, written by Josh Singer (Spotlight), recounts the preparations for the historic 1969 space flight to the moon.

The movie is slated to release in October.
