Lucknow : Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Rampal Yadav was on Friday suspended from the party for six years for his involvement in an illegal construction case.
This comes just two months after the Samajwadi Party suspended Yadav for alleged anti-party activities, but his suspension was revoked later.
The authorities in Biswan, a town and a municipal board located in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district, demolished a hotel-cum-multiplex property which is said to belong to the Samajwadi Party MLA.
On Thursday, the Lucknow Development Authority, according to a Dainik Bhaskar report, ordered the razing of a building also reportedly belonging to Yadav.
Yadav’s lawyer Lalit Mishra, however, told the media that the court had ordered a stay on the demolition of the Sparsh Hotel-cum Multiplex, but Sitapur Additional District Magistrate Sarvesh Kumar Dikshit said that there was no order from the court to stay the demolition of any property in the area that was under dispute and illegal.
Earlier, Yadav and his eight supporters were booked under various Sections of the IPC- attempt to murder, rioting, assault and criminal intimidation – following an FIR lodged at the Gautampalli Police Station on the complaint of LDA assistant engineer.
Many even address Yadav, who is the MLA from Biswan seat in Sitapur district, as the “Mini Chief Minister” of Uttar Pradesh. (ANI)
