A local leader of the ruling Samajwadi Party was today gunned down here in broad daylight by two motorcycle borne assailants.
Jaihind Yadav (42) was travelling in a car with a friend to Panki area when the accused intercepted the vehicle and
opened fire, police said.
Old enmity may have led to the crime, they said.
Previous attempts had been made on Yadav’s life, they said, adding that the witness is being questioned.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and efforts are on to trace the accused.
