Lucknow: Taking a dig at the recent power struggle between Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party unit chief Shivpal Yadav, BJP President Amit Shah attacked the state’s ruling party on Wednesday for doing nothing tangible for the people.
The ‘chacha-bhatija’ (Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Yadav), were incapable of taking UP to the heights it deserves to be at, he said at an event to commemorate the birth centenary of Jan Sangh ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyaya in Mathura.
He also said that while the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was rolling out a scheme for poor and the deprived every fortnight, the state government was hobbled by a power struggle.
Amit Shah also assured the gathering that if the BJP was voted to power in the forthcoming state assembly elections in 2017, the government would be of the poor people and will work in their interest.
