Disclosing that national Samajwadi Party has been planning to strengthen the party in the Telangana State, its State working president Lion C. Francis said he would be contesting in the ensuing Warangal Lok Sabha byelection as part of the drive. He also disclosed that his party would also be fielding candidates in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, Lion C Francis said party member Gadiraju Nagalakshmi has been appointed as Telangana State party president. He also said a new party committee would be constituted soon. Stating that he was planning to tour all the ten districts in the State extensively to strengthen it from grass-root level, Francis said he was trying to form party committees at village, mandal and district levels. Towards this end, they would be undertaking a door-to-door campaign for which the party functionaries were being briefed.
The State working president said they were making efforts to spread party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav’s ideas for people’s welfare among the masses in the State, he added. On the occasion, Lion C Francis presented appointment letters to F Susnal as State party general secretary, B. Chandrasekhar as organizing secretary and V. Vijayalakshmi as treasurer. (NSS)
