Abu Dhabi, March 13: South Korean President Myung-bak Lee arrived in the UAE starting a 3-day visit. President Lee will hold talks with the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on ways to promote bilateral relations.
The South Korean President will also meet His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and senior UAE officials.
The South Korean President was received at the airport by Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade; Lt-General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces; Abdullah Mohammed Abdulwahid Al Maeena, Ambassador of the UAE to South Korea; other UAE senior officials and Kwon Tae-kyun, South Korea’s Ambassador to the UAE.
The high-level South Korean delegation accompanying President Myung-bak Lee includes Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Kim Sung-hwan; Minister of Knowledge Economy Choi Joong Kyung; Minister of Health, Welfare, and Family Affairs Chin Soo-hee; Chairman of the Presidential Council for Future and Vision Kwak Seung Jun, and South Korea’s ambassador to the UAE Kwon Tae-kyun. This is the second official visit by the South Korean President to the UAE. His first visit in December 2009 saw the signing of a number of cooperation agreements between South Korea and the UAE.
