Hyderabad, July 01: The South Central Railway (SCR) would introduce 28-new train services soon. These train services would operate between SCR and Southern, South Westren zones.
The SCR would also operate four more local MMTS train services in the twin cities for passenger convenience.
M S Jayanth, General Manager, South Central Railway released the new Southern zone timetable and MMTS of twin cities here today.
Announcing the latest timetable of new trains, Jayanth said that at least 28 new trains would operate from July 1 from Hyderabad and Secunderabad stations extending 40 services covering South Central Railway, Southern Railway and South Western zones including local MMTS in twin cities.
He said that Duronto (bi-weekly) express train would operate between Secunderabad-Mumbai via Wadi, Sholapur and Pune.
Three super fast trains — Hyderabad- Ajmer Express (bi-weekly), Tirupati- Secunderabad (bi-weekly) and Secunderabad- Manuguru (tri-weekly).
“Three DEMU services covering local MMTS-one service each between Kacheguda-Mahabubnagar, Kacheguda- Miryalguda and Miryalguda- Kacheguda. The local train services will help passengers as we charge tickets at affordable than APSRTC bus services,’’ he added.
He said that the SCR also would run 11 MEMU services one each between Vijayawada-Guntur, Guntur-Tenali and Tenali- Vijayawada and two services each between Guntur-Vijayawada, Vijayawada- Tenali, Tenali-Guntur and Tirupati- Nellore. Two passenger trains would operate between Tirupati-Guntakal.
“For the convenience of women, four Matrubhoomi local MMTS ladies special services would run between Falaknuma-Lingampalli,’’ he said.
As per new timetable trains from other railways originating from South Central Railway, two intercity trains would operate between Coimbatore- Tirupati (tri-weekly) at day time and 2 intercity trains between Yesvantpur – Tirupati (tri-weekly) at day time and two services between Madurai-Tirupati (bi-weekly), four MEMU services between Chennai-Tirupati and Chennai- Nellore.
Jayanth said that Haripriya and Rayalaseema Express would be delinked and run as independent trains between Tirupati-Kolhapur and Tirupati- Hyderabad while new bi-weekly express train from Hyderabad-Kolhapur.
Secunderabad-Manmad express would be extended to Shirdi (bi-weekly), Kakinada-Manmad weekly express would be extended to Shirdi, Kakinada- Manmad bi-weekly train would be extended to Shirdi, Vijayawada-Manmad express would be extended to Shirdi (weekly) and Kacheguda-HS Nanded intercity express would also be extended to Akola.
He said that Howarh-Yesvantpur Duronto express would increase in frequency from weekly once to four days, Korba-Yesvantpur express from weekly once to bi-weekly and Bangalore-Patna Sangamitra express from six days a week to daily. “We are also planning to divert Chennai-Vijayawada Janshatabdi express via New Guntur and the date is yet to be finalised,’’ he added.
