SOURCES OF BLESSING (PART 2)

Of The Sources Of Blessings Are Also The Following:

TOTAL SUBMISSION TO ALLAH:

When one gives himself to Allah, complies with His Will and follow the stipulated path as prescribed by the Prophet (SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam), he will always be blessed in his deeds. Allah says:

“…And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty) and He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him…”
(at-Talaq: 2-3)

SINCERITY IN ACTIONS:

Sincerity, apart from being the yard stick for which any action of a person is accepted by Allah, it also brings much blessings to one’s deeds. An example of this was stated by the noble Prophet ‎(SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)‎ with the seller and buyer. He ‎(SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)‎ said:

“The buyer and the seller have the option of canceling or confirming the bargain, so long that they have not separated. And if they spoke the truth and made clear the defects of the good, then they would be blessed in their bargain; and if they told lies and hid some facts, their bargain would be deprived of Allah’s blessings”.
[Bukhari and Muslim]

OWNING A FAMILY:

Islam encourages marriage and forbids celibacy. And among the fundamentals and ways for Islamic marriage is the compulsion of dowry, the bride price (Given by man to women). This can differ and be understood according to norms and schools of thought. However, the Prophet ‎(SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)‎ has said that the easier the upkeep and provision for a woman, the more blessed is such a marriage. He (SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said:

“The greatest of women in blessing is the simplest amongst them in provision”.
[Ahmad]

‘Urwa after narrating the above hadith said: ‘I am saying from personally that one of the signs of knowing a marriage with bad fortune is the high cost of the dowry”
[Ahmad]

And after marriage so many blessings follow. Of these is the saying of the Prophet (SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam):

“Anas (RadiyAllahu Anhu) said: ‘The Messenger of Allah said to me:

“O my son! If you enter into the house of your family, make salam, blessing will be bestowed upon you and your family”.
[At-Tirmidhi]

THE BLESSED TIMES AND PLACES:

There are certain times and places embedded with special blessings by Allah. Acts of worship in them are more rewarding compared to other times. Some of these times are: Arafat on Arafat day, observing salat in the two holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah; the night of decree etc.

SINS ERADICATE BLESSINGS:

Sin has a great effect in eradicating the blessings from many things. The Prophet ‎(SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)‎ said:

“A slave might be deprived of provision due to the sin he commits”.
[Ibn Majah]

Ibn al-Qayyim commented saying: “In short, sin eradicate the blessing of the religion and worldly affairs from the one who disobeys Allah. You will not find blessing in his life, his religion and his worldly affairs. What belongs to Allah cannot be obtained except by being obedient to Him. And happiness is in getting closer to Him. Making plenty of worship bring blessings and open the doors of provisions. Allah said:

“And if the people of the towns had believed and had piety, certainly, We would have opened for them blessings from the heaven and earth, but they belied (the messengers). So We took them (with punishment) for what they used to earn (polytheism and crimes etc).”
(lA-A’raf: 96)

These are some of the sources of blessing, which in the real sense are so numerous in the teachings of Islam. One has to get these sources utilized in order to acquire as much blessings as possible. Blessings of Allah can never be too much. You need it every now and then in all your daily endeavours.
