SOT (Special Operations Team) on Wednesday raided a fake Zandu Balm manufacturing site, under Dundigal police station limits. Case was booked against the businessman, who is absconding.
According to police, the accused G Jitender started the unit for manufacturing fake Zandu Balm, under the cover of Venkateshwara Plastic Company in Saregudem Village, few days ago. On a tip-off, the SOT raided the spot and found some 5,000 bottles of balm and huge quantity of other substances. They took into custody, one of the workers but the owner of the unit, Jitender is still at large. The police booked a case under 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property). It is believed that the market value of the seized items, if processed could be Rs 10 lakhs.
