SOT arrests 5 for trying to sell slain gangster Nayeem’s benami properties

Hyderabad: Five people who tried to sell benami properties of slain gangster Nayeem have been arrested by the Special Operation Team (SOT). As reported by Hans India, creating fake documents of the properties, the gang was trying to sell them. Those who arrested include slain gangster Nayeem’s wife Hasina Begum and four others identified as Pasham Srinu, Famhi, Nazir, and Tumma Srinivas. Rachakonda police seized around Rs 88.37 lakh cash and three cars from their possession.

Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat informed that the five persons after identifying several benami properties forcibly acquired by Nayeem started selling them.

Telangana Today quoted Bhagwat as saying, “After Nayeem’s death in 2016, his associates and family members through their benami Thumma Srinivas got executed sale deeds and received Rs. 89 lakh from one Mandapally Venkateshwar Rao. The land actually belonged to some other persons and as there was a delay in the payment of money, Nayeem had forcefully acquired it and got registered in the name of his associates.”

Meanwhile, the police warned people not to enter into sale or purchase of land grabbed by slain gangster Nayeem and his associates.
