Sorry tale of Indo-Bangla love affair

In a very sad incident, the love story of an Indian Hindu girl and a Muslim Bangladeshi boy ended in vein.

According to sources , an undergraduate student girl, from Shikarpur area of Nadia district ,had met Amjad Ali from Bangladesh who came to his relative house in West Bengal some time ago.

The duo falls in love and before leaving Amjad told her to wait for him, till he returned to get married. Since then, the lovers had been in touch over phone.

However, the parents of the girl were strictly opposed to the match and repeatedly, and was forcing her to change her mind and warned her not to be in contact with him.

Seeing the family reaction, later one day the young women fled from home with a pretext of taking a bath swam across the Mathabhanga.She able to cross the border and succeeded in reaching Amjad’s home at Dharmadaha in the Kushtia district of Bangladesh after which they not the tie quickly.

The Doulatpur police station in Bangladesh arrested the girl for settling down in her in-laws’ place without the necessary travel papers, and sentenced to 15 days in jail. The woman handed over BSF personnel at the Gede border.

On returning home, the woman said, “I went to Bangladesh to marry the one I love. But unfortunately I got return as my brother lodged a complaint with the West Bengal Police alleging that “his sister had been abducted”.

He also lobbied with an NGO, which took up the matter with the Bangladesh government and arranged for my return, said the girl.
