Soon, AP will have surplus power

Hyderabad, March 26: Chief Minister K Rosaiah today said that State would become surplus in terms of power generation in about three to four years time.

Inaugurating the 33/11 KV substation in Sanatnagar area built at a cost of Rs 6.96 crore here today, he said the State is facing power shortage presently and expressed confidence that in the next 3 to 4 years time, the State will become selfsufficient and surplus in power generation.

The new indoor sub-station will provide quality power supply to 40,000 connections both domestic and non-domestic in ESI, SR Nagar, Sundernagar, Mythrivanam, B.K Guda, Sanathnagar and reduce the existing burden on Begumpet and Mythrivanam sub stations.

Rosaiah also laid foundation stone for widening of the existing road from FCI Godowns, Erragadda upto Fathenagar flyover at a cost of Rs 7.95 crore.

He asked the officials to give priority to traffic problems by taking appropriate measures. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has proposed to take up the road-widening works up to a total width of 100 feet on the Erragadda Junction, Sanathnagar, Balkampet road on priority basis. The Road Development Plan was approved by the Corporation for the said road widening more than two years ago.

Chief Minister said that efforts are on improve water supply in the City during summer. He also inaugurated a newly-built police station in Sanathnagar.

Sanathnaga r MLA M Shashidhar Reddy, Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and Major Irrigation Minister Lakshmaiah and others were present.
