Sons of Naidu, Rao off to US for promoting AP, Tel

Sons of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao are currently on a visit to the United States to promote their states and seek investments.

Naidu’s son Lokesh, who reached the US two days ago, had several meetings with NRIs and NRI entrepreneurs.

Lokesh, who spoke on the ‘Smart Village’ initiative of the Andhra Pradesh government on the first day, met Arun Kumar, an official in US Department of Commerce on day two,a TDP release said here today.

Lokesh met CEO of Dynamic Glass Manufacturers Rao Mulpuri and President of another company ‘Imagination’ Krishna Yarlagadda and urged them to set up their businesses in AP.

Yarlagadda responded positively to a request to set up a development centre in Visakhapatnam, it said.

Meanwhile, Rao’s son K T Rama Rao, who is Telangana IT and Panchayat Raj Minister, has also left for America and his engagements are expected to begin soon.

Rao is likely to meet India’s Ambassador to US and also officials of American administration and and some big ticket investors during his visit.

Rao is likely to sign agreements envisaging “big ticket investments” into the new state during his two-week visit to the US.

“Yes. I would not like to disclose them (big ticket investments) right now. Yes, they are expected,” Rao, told PTI here two days ago before leaving for the tour.
