Sonia was aghast at wealth amassed by Jagan: Sailajanath

Congress leader and Primary Education Minister Sailajanath has said that the party president Sonia Gandhi was astonished at the way the YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had amassed such a huge wealth within a short time.

Talking to the media here on Sunday, he said that every one, including the party president, was fearing him because of the wealth he had illegally earned. He said that whatever the punishment pronounced by the courts, the State government would religiously implement it.

On the CAG report about irregular land allotments, Sailajanath said that the government would take back all the lands, which were not used by the industries for the specific purpose. He said that the government would not support the irregularities some people might have committed under the guise of cabinet decisions.
Stating that the cabinet had approved land allotments hoping that these industries would create employment, he questioned how the cabinet could be faulted for what has happened behind the screen.

Referring to the YSR Congress leaders making allegations against the CBI, the minister reminded them that they themselves called the agency very upright when it gave a clean chit to Jagan in the murder case of Paritala Ravindra.

Referring to the allegations being leveled against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy by the TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, Sailajanath said that the latter has no moral right to criticize the Chief Minister, as he was himself the very epitome of corruption. He said that there was no parallel to Naidu in corruption in the entire world. He said that Naidu was gaining time in cases of corruption against him, by obtaining stay orders from courts. He also said that Naidu was the only leader in the country, who had sold even Rajya Sabha seats. (NSS)
