Hyderabad, July 31: The State BJP president, Mr G Kishen Reddy, has demanded that the UPA chairperson, Ms Sonia Gandhi, to open her mouth on the Telangana issue understanding the feelings of the people of Telangana region. The results were a fitting lesson to the ruling party and the main Opposition Telugu Desam party, he added.
Speaking to the media at State BJP office here on Friday, Mr Kishen Reddy charged the Congress party with having deceived the people of Telangana after promising to carve out separate State in 2004 and 2009 Assembly elections. He said that the Telangana people proved that there was a strong sentiment in the region by casting their votes for the victory of sitting MLAs in the by-elections.
Thanking the people for casting their vote for sitting MLAs, Mr Reddy said that the elections were held between the Telangana sentiment versus power-mongering individuals. The people cast their vote for the Telangana even though the ruling party misused its power, distributed money and liquor.
