AICC General Secretary Digivijay Singh is expected to arrive here on April 24 for making arrangements for a poll campaign to be attended by AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi, according to information.
Keeping the BJP-TDP combine and TRS’ intense campaigning in view, the Congress is roping in its national leaders and actors to attract electors for the meetings. Digvijay is to deal with polling campaign and Rahul is expected to campaign in Warangal and Hyderabad on April 25.
While it is being stated that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is likely to participate in a poll campaign in Telangana on April 26, informed sources said Singh is to address a public meeting at Bhongir in Nalgonda district.
Actually the Telangana Congress sources earlier stated that the Prime Minister will campaign in Hyderabad. But keeping in view the BJP and TDP combine and TRS are in the forefront to woo the voters, the Congress is planning to rope in national leaders once again to woo the voters. This time, Rahul Gandhi will tour Telangana tribal district Adilabad along with actress and Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) MP candidate and another MP candidate and former cricketer Md Azaharuddin likely on April 27 or 28.
