Sonia Gandhi slams BJP, says Modi is misleading nation

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday accused Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi of misleading the nation.

Sonia Gandhi said this during a rally in Sasaram in Bihar where the Congress has fielded Meira Kumar in the constituency.

“Nowadays, the leaders of BJP are making big claims and mislead the people as if every state in the nation has progressed because of them only, and no one else has worked harder before for bringing progress,” she said.

She appealed to all the people to vote for Congress candidates from the constituency.

Congress party had released its election manifesto on March 26, which promised inclusive growth for all sections of society from poor, middle class to business class, in its last attempt to fight anti-incumbency in the upcoming elections.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi had unveiled the manifesto, focusing on poverty, women, youth and minorities.

She added that Congress had fulfilled all its promises of the earlier manifestos and had armed the masses with powerful laws like the Right to Education, Right to Information, Land Acquisition Bill amongst a few.

Sonia Gandhi promised to provide free access to healthcare for every person in their party manifesto of upcoming general elections.

“The Congress party in its manifesto has promised to provide right to healthcare to each and every individual of the nation, this right would provide legal access to free healthcare and medicines for every person,” she said. (ANI)
