Kottayam: Congress president Sonia Gandhi will on Wednesday visit Kerala, to attend the Silver Jubilee function of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RIT).
Security has been beefed up as the state Congress leadership is giving final touches to the arrangements for the arrival of the UPA chairperson.
Two separate programmes have been scheduled for the AICC president. She would first be interacting with the leaders of UDF coalition partners at the Government Guest House, Nattakom.
She will then move to the campus of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RIT), to be a part of its silver jubilee during the coming academic year.
The silver jubilee function at RIT campus will be chaired by Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. Ministers Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, V.K. Ibrahim Kunju, Jose K. Mani MP, K.M. Mani and K. Suresh Kurup, both MLAs, K. Vijayakumar, director of Department of Technical Education, Ruby Abraham, Bino I. Koshy and T. Sasikumar will speak on the occasion.
