Sonia Gandhi admitted to AIIMS

Congress president Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the AIIMS hospital here on Monday for a health check-up, as per reports.

According to sources, 67-year-old Sonia Gandhi suddenly felt cold, feverish and complained of chest uneasiness. After which she was rushed to the hospital. Doctors had examined her at home yesterday as she had viral fever since last night.

At the moment reports are coming in that she has been kept under observation in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for precautionary measures. She also has a medical history of asthma.

Earlier today, Sonia Gandhi came at around 2 pm to the Lok Sabha to address the Parliament prior to a crucial vote on the Food Security Bill.

However, she left the Parliament at around 8:15 pm escorted by her son and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Union minister Kumari Selja even as the voting was to begin on food bill.

Hospital sources said, there was no cause for concern as the Congress president’s condition is stable.
