Sonia Gandhi to address four meetings in Telangana

Telangana Congress Campaign Committee chairman Damodar Rajanarasimha on Sunday informed that AICC President Sonia Gandhi would address four public meetings in Telangana region.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Rajanarasimha said that the venue and dates for the public meetings to be addressed by the AICC President were being finalised. He said one of the meeting would be held in Hyderabad. He said lakhs of people are likely to participate in the public meetings wherein Sonia Gandhi would be thanked for granting statehood for Telangana region.

Rajanarasimha accused TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao of misleading the people by frequently changing his statements on merger or alliance with the Congress party. He said the Congress party never made any offer for merger or alliance with the TRS. However, KCR himself issued statements while creating confusion among the people. By backtracking from his own statements, KCR is now trying to cheat the people, he alleged.

He said that the major credit for formation of Telangana of Telangana goes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the statehood cause. However, KCR is trying to project himself as the hero of Telangana while ignoring the sacrifices of Telangana martyrs. He said people would teach TRS and KCR a fitting lesson in the next elections.

Meanwhile, TPJAC leader A Dayakar, OUJAC Seshank and a few others leaders joined the Congress party in the presence of Rajanarasimha at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday. (INN)
