Senior congress leader D Srinivas today said that AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi has taken a daring decision on Telangana statehood. Participating in a TGO meeting here he said that the process of Telangana will go ahead without any hiccups. Sonia made it clear when he called on her recently that bifurcation process will go on smoothly and no efforts to stop the bill will be fructified, he maintained. Keeping the long pending sentiments of the region and aspirations of people, Sonia has taken a firm decision on the statehood, he said. I made continuous efforts for the statehood and even expressed concern, however Sonia did not do so as she is confident of giving statehood, he said. The Center has taken all steps needed for carving out Telangana state, Srinivas averred. He alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Seemandhra leaders of TD, YSRCP for stalling the debate for a political mileage.A special session of Parliament in February first week will approve the bill, whether or not the Assembly sends its opinion on the bill.
