Nashik, February 08: Nine out of the eleven accused in the Additional Collector Yashwant Sonawane murder case were today remanded to a 14-day judicial custody by Manmad Magistrate’s court in the district today.
Sonawane was burnt alive by Shinde and his associates near Manmad on January 25 when the officer had tried to stop fuel adulteration.
Prime accused in the case Popat Shinde died at Mumbai’s J J Hospital last week succumbing to burn injuries.
His minor son, Kunal was sent to Nashik’s remand home earlier.
The remaining nine accused, whose 14-day police custody ended today, were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody, police said.
