Actor Anil Kapoor says his stylish daughter Sonam Kapoor always keeps a tab on his wardrobe as he does not take fashion trends so seriously.
Anil, who was the showstopper for designer Raghavendra Rathore at the India Bridal Fashion Week (IBFW), looked dapper in a black kurta teamed with white churidar. It was his golden embroidered sleeveless short jacket which gave a festive look to the outfit.
“My daughter always suggests me on fashion trends. She keeps a check on what I wear and often disapproves if she does not like it. Raghavendra is a family friend and for this outfit also my daughters discussed the attire with him,” Anil told PTI.
Anil raises two daughters, actress Sonam and producer designer Rhea, with wife Sunita. Sonam, who is often dressed by her sister, is known for experimenting when it comes to fashion and has been praised globally for her dressing sense.
The actor credits Raghavendra for his ramp look and admits he is a big fan of the designer.
“I thank you all for appreciating my look but it is all Raghavendra’s effort and vision. The credit goes to him and his team. I enjoyed walking the ramp as the clothes weren’t very formal. The way it has been done it is very innovative,
simple and everybody looked very comfortable,” Anil added.
The Slumdog Millionaire star was welcomed on stage amid loud cheering and hooting, to which he smilingly walked
towards the centre with folded hands. He was later joined by Raghavendra.
“There was no pressure while walking the ramp, I think the idea is to have fun. You can’t take these things very seriously,” the actor said.
The runway had an unusual setting with fountains at the centre. Models walked around them as they displayed Raghavendra’s futuristic bridal collection which consisted of bandhgalas, fitted and dhoti pants, sarees, dresses, tuxedos, short and long jackets and kaftans.
