A son allegedly killed his mother and seriously injured his father in a village near Maibong in Assam’s Dima Hasao district, police said today.
Accused Punen Bodo (27) killed his mother Daudi Bodo (65) with a sharp weapon on Sunday and also attacked his
father when he came to the rescue his wife, the sources said.
On hearing shrieks the neighbours came to the spot and caught Punen and handed him over to police.
The father was rushed to Maibong Civil Hospital from where he was referred to Haflong Civil Hospital.
The victim’s body was brought to Haflong civil hospital for post mortem, they added.
