Hyderabad, April 13: Alleged property disputes led to a son killing his father near Tandur in the neighbouring Ranga Reddy district on Tuesday. The son axed his father to death while the latter was asleep late in the night and fled from the village, police said.
According to Tandur police, the victim Anantaiah (45) was a resident of Kautlapur. Anantaiah had left his wife and married another woman a few years ago. His first wife and four children by her were living separately in the nearby village.
The four children were reportedly having disputes with Anantaiah since the past few days over getting a share in property. “Anantaiah was reluctant to give them any share in the land and house,” police said.
Yesterday night, Anantaiah’s first wife’s son, Dastappa, came to the house and stayed there.
Today morning, Anantaiah’s body was found in a pool of blood in the verandah of the house.
“Dastappa hit his father with an axe on the neck leading to his instant death,” police said. Dastappa is absconding.
