The Telangana Government on Wednesday issued orders extending the term of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Somesh Kumar as Special Officer for a further period of six months.
Somesh Kumar, who was the then Commissioner, was made the Special Officer on December 4 after the completion of five-year term of GHMC’s elected council. Since fresh elections are yet to be held for the GHMC, the State Government extended the term of Somesh Kumar for six more months or till the elected council assumes office, whichever is earlier.
