Hyderabad, February 24: Pro-Telangana activists allegedly set afire two coaches of Manuguru passenger train between KSamudram and Thallapusanapalli stations in Warangal district on Wednesday afternoon during the Telangana bandh.
Eleven trains including Godavari Express, Balharshah-Secunderabad Bhagyanagar Express were also detained by the agitators.
Due to these incidents and to ensure safety of the passengers, the South Central railway has cancelled some trains completely and some others partially. Passenger trains on Secunderabad-Kazipet – Balharshah section and Secunderabad-Kazipet-Vijayawada section have been cancelled during the intervening night of February 23 and 24. Kazipet-Manuguru passenger will now run up to only Dornakal.
Pilot trains will run ahead of all important passenger trains on Kazipet-Balharshah section up to Sirpur town and Kazipet-Vijayawada section up to Madhira to ensure safety of the passengers.
