Somashekhar Reddy arrested

Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today made another arrest in the cash-for-bail scandal involving former Karnataka minister Gali Janaradhan Reddy. Karnataka legislator from Bellary Urban Somashekhar Reddy, who is accused number two in the case pertaining to bribing of CBI judge Pattabhirama Rao to get bail for Janardhan Reddy in Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) scam, was arrested this evening after grilling him for more than four hours on the fourth day of today. With his arrest, Andhra Pradesh ACB has arrested so far two MLAs from Karnataka including TH Suresh Babu (Kampli MLA) in connection with the case, who had surrendered before the ACB on July 30 and was remanded to judicial custody by the ACB court the next day till August 14. Somasekhar Reddy, who appeared before ACB officials on Friday in response to their summons, was being questioned at its headquarters. There were allegations against Mr Somashekhar Reddy by others accused including his relative Guduru Dasaratharami Reddy in the case who were already in jail. He was likely to be produced before the Special ACB court for remand. UNI
