Sohrabuddin case: accused seek stay on voice sample

Ahmedabad, November 08: A special court, hearing the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, today issued notice to CBI on an application by two accused seeking extension of stay on the order allowing the probe agency to collect their voice samples to compare them with audio-video evidence.

Suspended IPS officer Abhay Chudasama and sub-inspector N V Chauhan today filed an application in the special CBI court asking for extension of stay on the order allowing CBI to take their voice samples, by 10 days so that they can appeal in higher courts.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate A Y Dave issued notice to CBI asking them to file a reply by November 16.

The court on October 26 had allowed CBI to collect voice sample of Chudasama, Chauhan and another accused N K Amin, who had offered to become an approver in the case.
