Bollywood actor Omkar Kapoor says his film with actor-director Sohail Khan is on hold and will not go on floors this year. Soon after his hit Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, there were reports that the actor had bagged his second film tentatively titled My Punjabi Nikaah, to be produced by Sohail.
When asked about the project, Omkar told PTI, “Well that is as of now on hold. That will probably happen sometime later. As of now, that is not happening this year.”
“I would like not to discuss any of the details, it is too early,” he added.
According to reports, the film is about a young Mumbai boy who falls in love with a Muslim girl from London. It is apparently inspired by My Big Fat Greek Wedding. The actor is currently excited for his foray in web series with Web Talkies’ show You Me Aur Ghar.
The eighth-episode long series deals with the journey of a young couple who is looking to buy a house in Mumbai but in the process realises that a home is more about commitment and trust than just romance.
“They pitched me the idea of the show and since I wanted to do something in the web series space because I know it is the next big thing, I was on board. It is a very relatable idea, I know people could connect to it.”
According to Omkar, the digital space is an exciting medium for an artist as it comes with immense freedom.
“It is the best medium right now. Web series is a lot more experimental, there is a lot of freedom, there is not much of censorship in terms of language and the story. It gives the opportunity to be more real.”
The romantic-comedy show will air on November 10.
