Hyderabad, July 04: A software analyst landed behind the bars for allegedly sending abusive and obscene e-mails to his former lover, who is also a software professional.
Cyber Crime cell officials of the Hyderabad Detective Department arrested the accused, Ravichandra Vaidya, in Bangalore on Friday and brought him to the city. The 27-year-old software professional was remanded in judicial custody.
Son of State Bank of India’s Kamrareddy branch manager, Vaidya used to work with a software company in Hi-tec city at Madhapur. He fell in love with a colleague, daughter of a retired top official in the Forest Department.
They decided to marry but split after developing some differences over some personal matters. Vaidya later got a job in another company, re-married and shifted to Bangalore. He was working with a reputed company there.
For the past few months, he tried to renew his relationship with the former colleague. He started sending e-mails to her. When the woman refused to respond, Vaidya allegedly began sending obscene e-mails to her. He created a new e-mail account and was sending the mails through it.
A special team led by Sub-Inspector Uma Maheswar Rao tracked the e-mail id based on the Internet Protocol address from where it originated and found that he was sending the mails from his office computer.
