Social workers protest against the gruesome killing of civilians in Pulwama

New Delhi: Strongly condemning the killings of civilians by the security forces in Pulwama district, a protest was staged on Parliament Street. Social workers belonging to various organisations including Prof Apurvanand, Mohammed Javeed, Arjun Naik, Ashok Chaudhry, Minakshi Singh and Ravi Naik participated in the protest.

The protestors said that nearly 10 people were killed in the gruesome incident in Pulwama and dozens were injured. They told that they have gathered to provide justice to the victims. The speakers lamented that the Kashmiris live in the state of fear. They have no idea when they will be killed. It is unfortunate that the Kashmiri people are killed by barging into their houses.

The speakers also lamented that no political party intervenes into the matter and everyone remains silent. They said officials of the Human Rights Commission have been demanding for long, to remove special power forces act from Kashmir. There is no other state in India where the army has permission to shoot anyone on the basis of suspicion.
