Social welfare dept. tries to obstruct minority scholarships

A large number of students study in private degree and junior colleges run in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Central and state governments have started pre & post matric scholarships to eliminate educational backwardness of minorities and to increase literacy rate in the country. But thanks to the role of middle man in implementation of these schemes the benefits of these schemes do not reach minorities. It is a bitter truth that whenever the government launches any scheme for the development of minorities, government officials themselves become active to obstruct the implementations of the schemes.

In the case of pre & post matric scholarships too, obstructions are being created on one pretext or another. Sometimes the issue of adhar card is raised while sometimes it is the issue of finger prints and digital signatures.

Issuing a circular on 26-11-13 social welfare department has made it obligatory for the college administrations to buy E pass verification bio metric POS machines. The cost of each machine is Rs. 31 thousand. College administration and parents of the students feel that Social Welfare Department should withdraw the orders so that the college administrations are not burdened with additional expenditure.
