Social Media may tilt 4-5% votes, says IT expert Mohan Das Pai

Hyderabad: Noted IT, industrialist and expert, Mr. Mohan Das told that in the Lok Sabha Election, Social Media might tilt 4-5% votes. IT could be a deciding factor where the success would be with marginal votes.

Mr. Mohan Ras is the former Chief Financial Officer of Infosys. He further told that the first time voters are generally active. For most of them, Social Media is he main source of news.

He was talking to PTI correspondent in Hyderabad yesterday.

He also said that those who do not watch TV, normally go to YouTube.

They also do not read newspapers. They do not see anything except Social Media. They do not accept the influence of print media.

He advised the politicians to see what attracts the youths and where do they go or what do they want to see.
He told the political parties to confine their message in the form of a group. These messages should pose a positive image for the youths. They should be shown golden dreams.

Citing the example of foreign viewers, Mr. Pai told that the youths view the TV programmers to see how the citizens of other countries think about Indians. Those who dream of working in other countries should be told what is to be done to create a good impression of Indians.
