Some people wanted to offer “Salam” at Nishan-e-Mubarak of Ghouse-e-Azam which is situated adjacent to Bhagya Lakshni temple abutting Charminar. Police didn’t allow them to offer “Salam” after offering Friday prayer at Makkah Masjid.
Within no time, the situation became tense. Police started arresting youths who were going back home after attending their colleges. Police resorted to lathi charge and arrested them. Many such youths were kept in the custody of SDpecial Investigation Team.
They were produced in the court yesterday. The magistrate gave them in judicial custody. They were sent to Cherlapally jail. Who are responsible behind all these incidents and who are bent upon making the careers of these bright and intelligent students dark for no fault of theirs?.
These thoughts were expressed by MBT Corporator, Mr.Amjadullah Khan Khalid, while talking to newsmen yesterday. He told that some of the Muslim ulema who are the agents of the local political party, had appealed to the Muslim youths through a local T.V channel to assemble near Chilla Mubarak for offering “Salam”after Friday prayers.
When the police was arresting the innocent Muslim youths, these so-called Muslim Ulema were not to be seen near Charminar.
Some of the youths went to Chilla Mubarak to offer “Salam”, the police arrested them and caused injuries to them. The police constables also barged into the houses of the Muslims and arrested the innocent youths. They also insulted the Muslim women who resisted the policemen and prevented the arrests of their sons.
