Washington: NSA Whistleblower Edward Snowden warned people and asked them to avoid using Google’s Allo- an instant mobile messaging app as it has serious privacy problems.
“Google’s decision to disable end-to-end encryption was dangerous,” and that people should avoid the app, he tweeted.
Snowden tweeted, “Free for download today: Google Mail, Google Maps, and Google Surveillance. That’s #Allo. Don’t use Allo.”

Snowden claims that the new app “records every message you ever send and makes it available to police upon request.”

Apps such as Whatsapp and iMessage offer end-to-end encryption of messages automatically and none of the messages are stored.
“By default, it (Allo) is less safe than @WhatsApp, which makes dangerous for non-experts,” Snowden tweeted.
Google has launched its messaging app ‘Allo’, on September 21, 2016, for Apple and Android users. App ‘Allo’ could act as an alternative for WhatsApp.
