New Delhi [India]: India’s largest online marketplace Snapdeal has announced a range of initiatives it has undertaken to ensure that its users continue to get fastest ever deliveries, even as the shipment volumes surge multi-fold with the festive sale kicking in early next month.
In the run up to Diwali, all pre-shipment checks on fast moving items like mobile phones, memory cards, power banks, personal care appliances, kitchen appliances, air conditioners, televisions, home theater systems, printers etc. has already been done, so that packets can be dispatched within minutes of the order being received.
To ensure fast deliveries across the country, nearly 20,000 tonnes of cargo will move by air, for which bulk bookings have been done by Snapdeal’s logistics partners.
“Snapdeal’s fast deliveries have set new benchmarks for all players. From same day delivery within metros, to next day delivery to more than 100 cities, Snapdeal boxes will be on the move across the country, making the ‘Unbox’ moment a special one for our users this festive season,” said Snapdeal’s Chief Customer Experience officer Jayant Sood.
While all the fulfillment centers will work 24X7, the deliveries too will start earlier at 8am and will continue till eight pm to cater to the increase in volumes. The logistics teams have been augmented by temporary staff hired to ensure that shipments reach within the committed timelines despite the increase in volumes.
Snapdeal currently has nearly two million square feet of warehousing space with it, which is being rapidly expanded by Vulcan Express, its 100 percent subsidiary.
The Unbox Diwali Sale will cater to buyers from more than 6000 cities and will cover nearly 30,000 pin codes, including distant locations like Leh, Port Blair and Lakshwadeep islands. (ANI)
