Smriti’s outburst continues in Rahul’s political bastion

Amethi : Continuing her tirade against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on his home turf, Union Human Resource and Development (HRD) Minister Smriti Irani on Sunday alleged that the land allotted for the welfare of farmers was now being transferred to Gandhi family linked NGO.

“The Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust usurped the land, which was allotted to Amethi by the erstwhile government for the welfare of farmers,” Irani told the media here.

“They have cheated the farmers. We have filed RTI queries, which reveals that Samrat Bicycles was handed over the plot on dubious grounds,” she added.

Irani, who has lost the 2014 Lok Sabha polls from Amethi, further accused the Congress vice-president of cheating the people of his parliamentary constituency.

“Despite claiming them to be your family members, how could you cheat them in such a manner?” she asked.

The Union Minister had yesterday criticised Gandhi, saying Amethi has been left far behind in development.

Highlighting Pradhan Mantri Kisan Bima Yojna, Irani said that the Centre has approved Kisan Vihaan Kendra in Amethi, adding that if the state government provides land it would be started soon.

She also promised proper development of Amethi and especially mentioned Baraulia village which has been adopted by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar for its development. (ANI)
