New Delhi: On Saturday, 16-year-old Sandili Nagar’s father died on the spot after their vehicle hit HRD Minister Smriti Irani’s convoy.
The Union HRD Minister who escaped with minor injuries also tried help the injured reached hospital safe but Sandili alleged that after the accident she pleaded HRD minister for help but she overlooked her, according to reports published in ABP news.
Sandili who also got injured and received head injuries said, “We were going to attend a marriage ceremony and our motor cycle’s speed was very slow. Suddenly, Smriti Irani’s vehicle hit us and our motorcycle got slipped. She came out of her car to see us. My father was lying injured on road after the mishap. I asked her to help him but she denied.”
“Had she helped us our father could have been saved,” said Sandili.
“Our father was lying injured on spot. When Smriti Irani came down from her car, my sister pleaded before her to take our father to hospital but she ignored, said Abhishek Nagar, Sandili’s elder brother.
“We demand that action must be taken against her and our grievances must be heard. We are not a rich family; we live on rent and our father was the only one working for our livelihood,” he said.
Irani, with minor injuries on her left arm and leg in a series of tweets, said, “Tried to help the injured who were lying on the road for quiet sometime and ensured they reach a hospital. Pray for their safety.”
Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani’s car hit a vehicle from her cavalcade on Yamuna Expressway late Saturday night.
Irani was returning from Vrindavan after attending a convention organised by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha when the accident took place.
