Smriti Irani has become ‘collective liability’ of Cabinet: RJD

New Delhi: With the Congress deciding to move privilege motions against Smriti Irani in both Houses of the Parliament for her statements on Rohith Vemula, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Sunday said the Union HRD Minister has become ‘collective liability’ of the Cabinet.

“Rohith’s mother has been shouting on top of her voice that she (Smriti Irani) is lying and the minister has the audacity to go berserk in the Parliament. If this is not a privilege motion then what? The HRD Minister has become a kind of collective liability of the Cabinet and the government must do something urgently,” RJD spokesperson Manoj Jha told ANI.

“It’s a text book case of privilege motion. The way she used unverified data, unverified evidence, the way she went on to claim things in her favor, everything stands exposed,” he added.

The Congress and other opposition have decided to move privilege motion against Irani over her remarks in Parliament on the suicide of Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula. (ANI)
