Smitha Sabarwal, who is appointed as additional secretary in Chief Minister’s Peshi, today called on K Chandrashekhar Rao at his Secretariat chambers. During the meeting, Smitha said to have expressed her gratitude for the new assignment. Sources said that Smitha was shifted to a sort of plum post in CM Peshi, as KCR wanted to have another IAS officer for Medak district to enable the government to focus on implementing welfare schemes and developmental programs.
Earlier she was Medak District Collector and she got a pat from none other than Chief Minister during a meeting at Gajwel. Smitha, though elated to find her way into CM’s Peshi, has to put in extra hours of work to come up to the expectations of KCR, which is not that easy, it is learnt.
In the meeting, the CM is understood to asked Smitha rather smoothly to be prepared to work in hectic schedule. Since the people of Telangana have given power to the TRS, they are supposed to put in extra hours to cater to their needs, KCR is learnt to have stated. Those present in the meeting were Deputy Chief Minister Mahamood Ali, DGP Anurag Sharma, City Police Commissioner, Mahender Reddy and Intelligence Chief Shivadhar Reddy.(NSS)
