Small districts for better services: CM ; Announces Rs 1cr for new Collector office

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today asserted that the small districts will ensure effective implementation of welfare schemes and development programs in the state. Addressing the Collectors conference on the delimitation process at MCR HRD here he announced Rs 1 cr for each new collector office and Rs 50 lakhs for new police station to come up. He clarified that several wings will be brought together and appoint new officials to monitor multiple wings for effective monitoring of the administration.

The smaller the districts better the administration curbing corruption and irregularities he said and asked the officials to keep up to the expectations of the people. Of 64 departments in the government many are of similar nature and will be brought under one official followed by task force recommendations. Only official will head agriculture, horticulture, sericulture he said adding that forest, social forests and wild animals wing will be clubbed besides DRDA, DWAMA and SERP will be made a single department.

Stating that Irrigation projects will boost the agriculture sector he hoped that the collectors will monitor the schemes to bring significant change in the lives of SC, ST, BC and Minorities through various schemes. (NSS)
