New Delhi:Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday said that a sluggish economy and an overloading taxation system cannot create jobs.
“A sluggish economy cannot create jobs. An overloading taxation system will not be able to create jobs. From the past twelve months, we have been working towards social security and better working conditions for labourers,” he said in his address at the inauguration of 46th session of Indian Labour Conference.
Jaitley is the guest of honour at the two-day conference that will deliberate on social security for workers, both in organised and unorganised sectors, and job creation.
The conference is to be officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi wherein he will dedicate the National Career Service (NCS) portal to the nation.
He will also launch health reforms of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation of India (ESIC) on the occasion. (ANI)
