Senior journalist Syed Khader Moiuddin Hashmi passed away on Sunday morning due to heart attack. He was 66.
Hashmi, who lost his wife Prof. Ruksana Sultana of Department of Urdu in Osmania University a few years ago, leaves behind his only son.
Born on March 29, 1946 in Chilkalguda in Secunderabad, Hashmi did his BCJ in OU in 1970 and joined as subeditor in Deccan Chronicle where he worked for over 20 years. After his tenure in DC, he worked with some other newspapers, including News and Services Syndicate. He also taught students in OU, Dr B R Ambedkar Open University, Loyola College in Secunderabad and Moulana Azad National Urdu University.
His body was buried in Chilkalguda Muslim burial ground on Sunday evening in the presence of his mourning near and dear. (NSS)
