SK Afzaluddin cries religious discrimination, slams Modi for presenting budget despite E Ahamed’s demise

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary S K Afzaluddin slammed Modi government for presenting the budget despite sad demise of veteran leader and union minister E Ahamed instead of postponing it. Declaring the act as inhuman, Mr. Afzaluddin said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has deviated from the tradition and violated constitution. He said former Union minister and Lok Sabha MP from Indian Union Muslim League E Ahamed suffered cardiac arrest in Parliament itself.
He also condemned that Ahamed’s children, who flew in from abroad, were not allowed to meet their father.

Mr. Afzaluddin further added E Ahamed was among the key political leaders of India. He was elected for Kerala assembly for 7 times during 1967-2017 and was elected 7 times for Lok Sabha. He remained on 3 ministerial posts during Congress-led UPA government. Central government’s gesture on the death of such a great personality is very unfortunate, he said. He pointed out that central government is presenting the budget a month ahead; no damage would have caused if the budget was postponed for a day and presented the next day.

The Congress leader claimed that NDA government is discriminating against Muslim leaders. The parliament session was not postponed on the death of Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, while the same was postponed on the death of Tamil Nadu Chief Minster Jaya Lalitha.
